Elevate Your LinkedIn Game with Engagement Pods

Picture this: a dedicated group of people who become your social media cheerleaders, your personal champions, and your secret to breaking free from the shackles of low engagement. It's the 21st century, and finding a tool that can actually boost your visibility on social media is like finding a unicorn…

Enter the ‘LinkedIn pod,’ more broadly known as the ‘engagement pod.’ This secret weapon is a surefire way to break through the proverbial glass ceiling on LinkedIn, i.e., the LinkedIn algorithm.

What Exactly is a LinkedIn Pod?

A LinkedIn pod is essentially a group chat of thought leaders who commit to liking, commenting, and engaging with each other's LinkedIn posts. The trick here is that this mutual support can trigger the mysterious LinkedIn Algorithm to work in your favor.

Now, let's face it; most of us are already LinkedIn heavyweights in our own right. But who doesn't want more followers and engagement, especially when you've decided to up your posting game (and maybe even post every day)? 🤭 👀

However, for many LinkedIn regulars, the term 'LinkedIn Pod' might raise an eyebrow or two. The burning question is: ‘Where does a thought leader even find the perfect pod?’

How To Find a Pod

For starters, you can be the captain of your ship and create your own 'manual' LinkedIn pod. Just create a group message thread with LinkedIn users who you think could boost your personal brand's content. We recommend finding people within your industry or functionality so you can reach the right audience.

Alternatively, another option is to join an existing LinkedIn pod, many of which can be found using the LinkedIn search tool. Just type 'LinkedIn pods' or 'engagement pods' into the search bar, scroll through, and look for pods that align with your industry or the topics you love to talk about.

And don't forget about digital communities that offer a managed, or ‘white glove service,’ for pods, like Badassery's LinkedIn pod. It's one of our exclusive membership perks for our private thought leadership community.

Navigating Pod Etiquette

Nobody wants a pod-iquette nightmare. Let's be real; you can't be expected to like and comment on everyone's posts around the clock. So, here's the 411 for all you budding pod pros:

Step 1: Share your LinkedIn post along with some context for pod members.

After you share your LinkedIn post externally, drop the link in the pod with a quick heads-up. Let your podmates know what's in your post or if you have a specific request, but keep it short. They're here for a reason, after all—they know why you've come to the pod.

Step 2: Watch your pod members' likes and comments soar on your post.

Next, everyone in the group should show some love to your post as soon as they can, but let's not get carried away with the urgency. Nobody should be sliding into their podmates’ DMs begging for an instant like or comment on their content. The beauty of a pod is that some folks will respond quicker than others, so the bigger the pod, the better, in most cases.

However, every pod is run differently.

In our Badassery community's LinkedIn pod, we keep it simple. As a general rule of thumb, and for the harmony of all pod members, participants should:

  • Commit to posting and sharing with pod members at least once a week.

  • Dive into all your Badass pod-mates' posts within 24-48 hours of a content share.

  • Remember to give as much as you take!

Unleash the Pod Power

Just like life itself, not all pods are created equal. What’s the secret sauce of a good pod, you ask? Well, you'll know it when you stumble into the right one: you’ll notice that it feels equal parts supportive and actionable.

A killer LinkedIn pod brings something crucial to the table for thought leaders: accountability. If you're committed to posting weekly (or even daily in some pods), there's a powerful motivator in witnessing others regularly share their work—it's like an unspoken agreement that you'll do the same to reap the full benefits of this win-win relationship.

This exposé, as part of our blog, includes insights from real examples and conversations amongst Badassery members who participate in our community’s LinkedIn pod. We support our thought leaders in a myriad of ways, providing platforms to promote their work and champion others. For the full scoop, check out our Membership Benefits or join the Waitlist.
