Carolyn Shirian

Head of Americas Investor Relations and Marketing @ Credit Suisse Asset Management

Carolyn Shirian is the current Head of Investor Relations and Marketing for the Americas division of Credit Suisse Asset Management (“CSAM”), which manages over $400 billion in assets globally. She has built out the team via new hires and transformed the division from a historically under-utilized unit to a function with significant impact and visibility. Carolyn has established a strong operations framework and has improved client engagement touch points, which is driving asset flows to the alternatives product suite that she represents globally across the organization. She has been a key strategic partner for the investment and distribution teams, where she has worked directly with business heads to improve collaboration and to build out marketing platforms – contributing to a cumulative ~$75 billion in net new asset generation in the last three years for CSAM globally. Her initiatives have enhanced the impact and reshaped the view of the Firm’s brand to the market and its clients, who are mainly highly sophisticated and demanding institutional investors.

Prior to her current position, Carolyn was a part of Credit Suisse Asset Management’s Business Development and Strategy team. In this role, her work included partnering with senior management to develop and articulate the strategic vision of the business. She also worked with key stakeholders on analyzing and implementing priority growth initiatives. Carolyn was tapped to lead the Investor Relations and Marketing function after she co-led a strategic review of the business area which reaffirmed the need for investment in the division.

Carolyn is a quintessential NYC (born and raised!) woman who gets sh*t done, walks very fast and favors wearing all black. She is quite a fan of self-care, and is passionate about connecting people and creating inclusive and equal opportunity environments, especially in the workplace.

Carolyn holds a B.A. in Economics and Business Studies from New York University.
