Lauren Wong spends the vast majority of her time thinking about futures. She’s the Associate Strategy Director at Character, a branding and design studio based in Brooklyn and San Francisco. At Character, Lauren helps founders, leaders, and category-creators articulate a vision for their brands. Her strategic practice blends her experience as a trends analyst, cultural researcher, creative strategist, and innovation advisor.
Prior to Character, Lauren’s work spanned across innovation, design research, advertising, and brand strategy. She has worked on many brands – like Samsung, Marriott, Artiphon, and Clif Bar – at many creative companies – like Lippincott, 72andSunny, PSFK, and Wallace Church. She’s also had the pleasure of leading workshops for big festivals like the Fast Company Innovation Festival and teaching at Parsons The New School for Design, where she received her MFA.
Outside of work, Lauren spends her time exploring places in New York where new cultural patterns grow, from restaurants and bars to installations and performances. She also leads global partnerships for Women in Innovation and mentors at the arts/tech incubator New Inc. Lauren is passionate about youth culture and designing a more inclusive creative community.
