Melissa Narvaez Arteaga’s life is straight out of a telenovela—full of stories and unexpected twists. She is a traveler, avid learner, and polyglot who went from working with oil cargo ships in a small town in Venezuela to running field marketing at one of the top software companies in the world.
Although born and raised in Venezuela, she also calls Morocco, Spain, and Argentina home—all places she lived before making her way to San Francisco, and now New York. As a Latina and globe trotter, Melissa is very passionate about translating her personal experiences into advice and help other Latinxs advance their career and see obstacles as opportunities for growth.
She is a marketer by day and an enthusiastic career coach by night. She is currently a Field Marketing Manager at Salesforce in NYC. She has ten years of experience in B2B software sales and marketing, going from account development in LATAM, to being responsible for creating marketing programs that accelerate & generate business for MuleSoft's East region.
She recently founded Venezolanas in Tech, a community dedicated to inspiring Venezuelans and other Latinas to pursue a career in tech. She is an active member of Latinoforce NY (a Salesforce Equality group), and created Venezuela Children Aid with the objective of gathering necessary goods for the children of her hometown in Punto Fijo, Venezuela.
In her free time, Melissa loves to dance (she’s a certified Zumba instructor), travel with her husband and her camera, and learn new languages (currently working on her Hebrew).
