Shaina Zafar is obsessed with solving problems with human-centered design, powered by Gen Z. Being a young badass, she wants to trailblaze the way for young people to take action and reclaim the narratives that surround generalizations about this generation.
At 19, she is the Chief People Officer at JUV Consulting, a Generation Z marketing consultancy that works with Fortune 500 companies, startups, and nonprofits to position campaigns and brands to resonate with Gen Z. The team is fully operated by Gen Z’ers between the ages of 14 to 23, with offices in New York City. She oversees social impact, partnerships, the Vine network, and company culture practices at JUV. Currently, she is a first-generation, low-income college junior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in International Relations and Consumer Psychology.
She now serves as the United State of Women Ambassador for Philadelphia, advocating for gender equity and amplifying Muslim and AAPI voices. She previously founded Code for a Cause, a program with Microsoft and Girl Scouts, that allowed young girls to learn about politics and STEM through programming. Previously, she's worked with the Born This Way Foundation and Verizon Media’s BUILT BY GIRLS Program. She has been recognized as a Coca-Cola Scholar, StartingBloc Fellow, and was the youngest speaker at the United Nations and World Bank International Young Leaders Assembly.
Every year on her birthday, she makes a Spotify playlist with only 365 songs—one for each day of the year. If she isn't exploring new music, you can find her drinking bubble tea, cooking at odd hours of the night, or tweeting @ShainaZafar about her favorite new things or social impact practices!
