All prospective members go through an application process where we assess for values alignment, intentions, potential contributions, and level of Badassery (of course).
A select few will be moved onto an interview round that is conducted by our Culture Crew, a group of members who embody all Badassery values. They are the ones who ultimately make the decision about who joins.
About 30% of each applicant round is invited to join the community.

We currently have a little over 100 members, 95% of which come from an underrepresented community. We practice what we preach when it comes to diversity, and make sure this community is not siloed in any way—we’re open to all genders, races, religions, educational backgrounds and more. What ties us together is our strong values, and we celebrate our differences.
Most of our members come from a wide range of expertises in the tech and media industries, but we are an industry-agnostic community.

Currently, being a Badassery speaker is a perk offered only to our members. More information will be provided once an applicant is accepted to join Badassery.
Please note 2 important things:
1) If you are accepted to be a Badassery member, that does not mean that you are guaranteed a spot in our speaker marketplace. We assess speaker qualifications separately.2) If you’re mainly looking to join Badassery because of the option of becoming a speaker, we recommend you re-think your application, as this is only an added perk and not the focus of Badassery’s experience.
